How would you describe the Venice / Italian style?

My mom is letting me move into a new, bigger bedroom since my older sister moved out and I have proven that I am responsible. I've decided on a Venice theme and I was wondering how my fellow Y!A-ers would describe the Italian style. When I think of Venice, I think of dreamy, romantic, and beautiful lights with a lot of wrought iron and flowers. I think of warm, neutral tones like red, orange, gold, brown, green, and tan. What is your take on the style?
